Italian rising star Jannik Sinner reached his first-ever ATP Tour final on grass, defeating China’s Zhang Zhizhen 6-4, 7-6(7-3) at the Halle Open. The world number one expressed his delight, stating, >”It means a lot. I had four very tough matches to get to the final. It was a good match today. I’m happy and let’s see what’s coming tomorrow.”
In the other semi-final, Poland’s fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz, the 2022 Halle champion, secured a 7-6(7-2), 6-4 victory over French Open runner-up Alexander Zverev. Hurkacz, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2021, commented, >”I really love grass. The surface suits my game and the atmosphere here, having the full crowd is incredible.”
