Aryna Sabalenka Continues Dominant Run at French Open, Reaches Quarterfinals
Paris, May 29 – Aryna Sabalenka, the second-seeded player, extended her impressive performance at the French Open by defeating Emma Navarro 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals on Monday. The Belarusian, who has yet to drop a set at Roland Garros, is now just one win away from her seventh consecutive Grand Slam semifinal appearance.
Sabalenka’s joy was evident after the match, as she showcased her dance moves to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” while walking off the court. The 24-year-old attributed her positive mindset to the sun being out at Porte d’Auteuil, saying, >”When the sun is out, I play with a lot more happiness.”

In the men’s draw, the 11th-seeded Australian Alex de Minaur made history by becoming the first Australian to reach the quarterfinals at Roland Garros since Lleyton Hewitt 20 years ago. De Minaur rallied past fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-3, delivering his on-court interview in French to the delight of the crowd.
