Salisbury and Ram Cruise to Victory at French Open Doubles
On Monday, British tennis star Joe Salisbury and his American partner Rajeev Ram secured a comfortable 6-3 6-3 victory over the French duo of Lucas Pouille and Gregoire Barrere in the men’s doubles event at the prestigious French Open.
“The successful pair, who have never progressed beyond the quarter-final stage at Roland Garros, will now face off against the Italian combination of Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli in the next round.”
Notably, Salisbury is set to take the court again later in the day, this time alongside compatriot Heather Watson in the mixed doubles event. The all-British pairing will compete against fellow Briton Neal Skupski and his American partner Desirae Krawczyk for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Salisbury, a seasoned doubles specialist, has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, claiming both the French and US Open mixed doubles titles in 2021 while also winning four major men’s doubles titles alongside his current partner, Rajeev Ram.
