As Wimbledon Approaches, the Grass Court Season Takes Center Stage
Eastbourne Tournament Kicks Off This Week
The focus in the tennis world is shifting to the grass court season, with the Eastbourne tournament taking the spotlight this week. Meanwhile, qualifying for the prestigious Wimbledon Grand Slam event commences at Roehampton.
Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina headlines the WTA tournament in East Sussex, which kicks off on Monday, 24 June. British number one Katie Boulter and rising star Emma Raducanu will also be in action on home soil. Raducanu, the 2021 US Open winner, faces fellow Grand Slam champion Sloane Stephens in the opening round, while Boulter takes on a qualifier.
Rybakina, who clinched the Wimbledon title in 2022, receives a bye as the top seed. The Wimbledon qualifying rounds will take place from 24-27 June, paving the way for the main draw action a day later.
