The 22-year-old from Montreal overcame Argentina’s Marco Trungelliti in a tightly contested clash, emerging victorious with a score of 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-4. Mississauga’s Marina Stakusic was also set to face Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic in a second-round qualifying match later on Wednesday.
